About Frances

I am a Music graduate based in Putney, London. I have previously tutored in violin, piano and voice and have run string quartet ensembles as well as being leader of an orchestra. I have been lucky enough to perform in some very prestigious venues, including Notre Dame and the Royal Albert Hall, which have continued to inspire and ignite my passion for music which I intend to encourage in others.

About the class

My teaching method is based on patience, encouragement and enthusiasm. I can teach all abilities, however I believe my teaching methods are very well suited for beginners, from young children to adults seeking a new hobby.

Generic lessons will be split into three sections:

1. Scales and arpeggios
2. Exercises
3. Practicing pieces

For brand-new violinists, I will also teach them how to read sheet music, rhythms and general music practices, so students can gain a comprehensive understanding of the study of music in general as well as receiving violin tuition.

I am happy to tailor sessions to suit the individual students' needs. Whether the student is working towards an exam, or just wishes to play for fun, I can instruct and guide in a fun and educational way.

I believe music should be something that needs to be enjoyed, as opposed to simply learned, so the primary goal for my lessons is for students to have fun.
