About Ben
I'm a music producer and composer from New York City. I studied ethnomusicology in college with a focus on technology and education. My primary interest as a musician is scoring for movies and television, but I also love making beats, audio engineering for other people, and just about anything else musical. I've also spent time as an intern/apprentice at two music studios, both of which greatly informed my understanding of music in professional spaces. I took two years of music theory in college, two semesters of a student gamelan orchestra, and a variety of music history and culture classes, so I've engaged with a lot of different corners within the music world.

My lesson plans are adaptive to wherever you're starting at, whether you've never worked in a digital audio workstation, or you simply feel stagnant in terms of your musical abilities at the moment. Regardless of your experience, I will actively tailor my teaching around your interests and artistic inspirations, because this is ultimately about you making the music YOU want to make. We can start from the basics of music theory, learn how to program drums, or look at different ways to record and mix your voice on a song. Once I get a sense of what you need from me, we will practice particular skillsets by working on songs together. I promise it will be fun, engaging, and leave you with a completely new understanding of what is possible in a digital audio workstation!
