About Florent
Musician since the age of 7, I studied classical saxophone for about ten years.
I am gradually interested in jazz, improvisation and contemporary Afro American music such as hip-hop, funk and soul.
I then pursued studies on jazz musicology, and then moved to Montreal, Canada, for a year to study jazz at the renowned Faculty of Music of the Université de Montréal.
On my return, I continue my studies by enrolling in the jazz school "Jazz à Tours" until the diploma of MIMA (Musician Performer in Contemporary Music), and continues the following year in DEM at the conservatory of Tours.
My main instrument being the saxophone, I learn in parallel several secondary instruments in self-taught.
This allowed me to have a fairly precise and global understanding of the learning of music, and to offer you lessons of both saxophone, flute, piano or bass.
Since the end of all my studies and until today, I’ve had nearly 200 concerts in France and around the world: Italy, Spain, Algeria, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic and Austria… nearly 400 hours spent on stage !
All this represents a significant stage experience which will be a real plus for what I wish to transmit to the students.

Many think that music is a gift given to a few elect; perceived as something related to muses and mysticism.
This suggests that there would be two types of people: those who are gifted and the unfortunate ones for whom learning music is a hopeless struggle, like trying to carve marble with a butter knife.
On the contrary, I believe that to play well is not to appeal to his muse, but to improve until producing a sound becomes music.
Thanks to a personalized method based on the progress of the student, and ESPECIALLY in order to have fun as early as possible, the courses will address the development of sound, instrumental technique, harmony (simple and complex according to the level), rhythm, theory.
All these themes will go smoothly and in the way of what the student wants to play and the styles that interest him.
Small precision concerning the music theory: I am convinced that his knowledge is a powerful advantage, but his learning has a strong demotivating potential for some.
This is why it will be "injected" in the courses in small touches digestible for the student.
Or we'll talk about it for hours if he is thirsty for theory ;)
Little More : if you wish, we will experiment fun things like playing in a microphone and recording on songs, or using effects pedals.

J'ai pris un cours avec florent après l'avoir vu jouer avec son groupe de funk sur un concert, très patient et plein de richesse musicale je recommande il m'a donné envie de continuer le saxophone (je débute)
