About Maya
I am a freelance violist based in Cape Town. I am also an arranger and marimba teacher for the Handevat Music Project. I completed my TEFL Certificate in 2020, and my BMus degree in 2015. I am passionate about mentoring and helping people through education. I enjoy meeting new people and building friendships. Where language fails music speaks!

Repetition and attention to detail is key. It needs to become apart of you and I am here to help! As a person I am friendly and creative. It is important to me to ensure that my teaching is optimal for each student's specific needs. I am a responsible, hard-worker and like to inspire my students to be the same through leading by example. Dedicated practicing of music skills builds patience, dedication and commitment. I am also never too old to learn and always try to take part in masterclasses and courses where possible. In that way I can make sure that I am the best musician and teacher I can be.
