About Keyhan

I am a fitness coach, exercise physiologist, educator, and competitive athlete with over 15 years of experience in fitness coaching and personal training. I hold a Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology and spent five years as a university lecturer, teaching exercise physiology and related subjects to future health and fitness professionals.

As a Men’s Physique and Bodybuilding Champion, I combine academic knowledge with real-world competitive experience to help clients achieve safe, effective, and sustainable results.

I am an internationally certified NASM Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) and NASM Weight Loss Specialist (WLS), with weight management and body transformation as my primary area of expertise.

I have one year of experience working alongside Dr. Suffian’s Weight Loss Clinic, supporting clients with obesity, diabetes, and other lifestyle-related conditions through evidence-based exercise programs as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

In less than two years, I have coached more than 100 athletes and clients, both in person and online. I have also been the fitness columnist for Expat Magazine Malaysia for over two years, where I write educational articles on health, fitness, nutrition, and exercise science.

To provide continuous support beyond our sessions, I developed KEYLab, my coaching app, where clients receive personalized training programs, progress tracking, habit coaching, and direct communication to help them stay accountable and achieve long-term success.

  • What age did you start playing sport? Tell us about this time or moment in your life.

I started playing sports when I was around 7 years old. Like many children, I loved being active, but as I grew older, my curiosity shifted toward understanding how the human body adapts to exercise. That passion eventually led me to study Exercise Physiology and dedicate my career to helping people become healthier, stronger, and more confident.
  • What are your favourite sports; those that you practice at a high level, a simple hobby, and a sport that you'd still like to discover?

Bodybuilding is the sport I've pursued at the highest level, and strength training remains a big part of my lifestyle. I also enjoy playing padel as a hobby because it's both challenging and fun. One sport I'd love to explore in the future is rock climbing, as it combines strength, endurance, and problem-solving.
  • What gives you the motivation and passion to pursue your sport?

What motivates me most is seeing progress not only in myself but also in my clients. Exercise has the power to transform confidence, health, and quality of life. Knowing that I can help someone become stronger, healthier, and happier is what drives me every day.
  • Do you have a sporting achievement that you're particularly proud of?

I've been fortunate to achieve success across several sports throughout my athletic journey. I was a three-time Freestyle Football Champion, won multiple provincial, national, and international Kickboxing championships, earned titles in Muay Thai competitions, and later became a Bodybuilding Champion. While I'm proud of these accomplishments, what means the most to me today is using everything I've learned to help my clients transform their own lives. Watching them achieve goals they once believed were impossible is my greatest reward.
  • How have your achievements and challenges made you a better sportsperson?

My journey hasn't been limited to athletic achievements. Alongside competing, I've dedicated much of my career to education and sports science. I worked as a university lecturer, where I had the privilege of teaching and mentoring students, published scientific research in the field of exercise science, and became a contributing writer for Expat Magazine in Malaysia, where I share evidence-based fitness and health knowledge.

Combining practical experience with academic research has shaped the way I coach. It has taught me to question assumptions, rely on scientific evidence, and communicate complex ideas in a simple and practical way. As a result, my coaching is built not only on experience in the gym but also on education, critical thinking, and a genuine commitment to helping people achieve lasting results.
  • If you had to go for a jog with a famous athlete, who would you choose? And what questions would you ask them?

Without a doubt, I would choose Cristiano Ronaldo. I've admired his discipline, work ethic, and relentless pursuit of excellence for many years. I'd love to ask him how he has maintained such an elite level of performance and motivation for over two decades, how he approaches recovery and mental resilience, and what habits have made the biggest difference throughout his career. I believe success at the highest level is never just about talent. It's about consistency, discipline, and mindset, and Ronaldo is a perfect example of that.
  • How do you help people stay motivated?

I don't believe motivation is something you can rely on every day. Instead, I help my clients build sustainable habits, realistic goals, and systems that keep them moving forward even when motivation fades. I also celebrate small victories because they build confidence and create momentum over time.
  • What makes you a Superprof in sports?

I combine scientific knowledge with real-world coaching experience. I hold a Master's degree in Exercise Physiology, I'm NASM-certified, and I've worked with people from complete beginners to competitive athletes. Before becoming a full-time coach, I also worked as a university lecturer, which strengthened my ability to teach complex concepts in a simple and engaging way.

For me, coaching is about much more than workouts. It's about understanding each person's goals, lifestyle, and mindset, then creating a strategy they can realistically follow for life. I believe the best coaches don't just change bodies. They change habits, confidence, and lives.
