About MICHAEL
Hi! I’m Michael, and I believe a good tutor should be more than someone who simply teaches from a textbook. I want to create a comfortable environment where students can ask questions freely, make mistakes without feeling embarrassed, and gradually become more confident in their own abilities.
I started tutoring because I enjoy seeing the moment when something finally “clicks” for a student. To me, the most rewarding part of teaching is watching a student go from “I don’t understand this” to “I can do this myself.”
As a student, I understand how difficult it can be to balance studies, expectations and exam pressure. That is why I want my lessons to be practical, encouraging and focused on real improvement. I will always listen to my students, understand what they need, and support them at their own pace.
I hope to be someone my students can trust, learn from and feel comfortable working with. My goal is not only to help students get better marks, but also to help them become more confident and independent learners.

Hi, I’m Michael, currently pursuing a Foundation in Business at Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak. I achieved 9A in SPM, including A+ in Bahasa Melayu, English and Mathematics, and I also have hands-on tutoring experience at Intelek Tuition Centre in Miri.
My teaching approach is simple: understand first, then learn how to score. I break difficult topics into simple explanations, identify each student’s weaknesses, and guide them through targeted exercises and exam-style questions. I also teach practical answering techniques, especially for SPM, so students know not only what to study, but how to apply it during exams.
For Bahasa Melayu, I can explain concepts in English or Mandarin, which is especially useful for international school students or students who are more comfortable learning in Mandarin.
Lessons are usually 1 hour per class, adjusted according to the student’s needs and level. I teach Form 4–5 BM, English and Sejarah, as well as lower-secondary Mathematics and Geography.
I aim to create a friendly, supportive and focused learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and improving. Whether you are struggling with the basics or aiming for an A/A+, I will work with you towards your specific academic goals.
