About Edward
Hi! I am a tutor specialising in A-Level Maths and GCSE Maths and Physics. For my A-Levels, I recently achieved an A* in Maths, A* in Physics and an A in Further Maths. I am currently studying MEng General Engineering (specialising in Aeronautical Engineering) at Durham University. Outside of academics I am really into sport like football, rugby and squash, but I also read, especially crime thriller books.

In my lessons you will understand why a method works, not just how to apply it. This is an important distinction on how to reach the top marks. My lesson will follow a clear structure:
1. Explain the general principle - This allows us to break down the topic to understand the reasoning.
2. Walk through a worked example - Using a real past paper question, I will share my screen so you know exactly what to do.
3. You try it, talking it through - A similar example will be used and you will now walk me through how to do the problem.
4. Targeted correction - If any mistakes are made or a part of the topic is troubling, we will work through that specific step until you have a good understanding.
5. Independent practice - I will set further problems to do both during the lesson and afterwards to solidify the learning.
The lesson length will run for 1 hour, however I am flexible if more or less is required. These sessions are for maths at GCSE & A-Level as well as physics at GCSE level.
