About Raven

I am a sociable student, always finding myself tutoring those around me. I have the complete knowledge of VCE Music Performance and how to most effectively tutor it, and love being able to share that knowledge! I’m extremely patient and understanding, and I’m great with children of all ages, with the added bonus that I know where they’ll be headed. I myself have 13 years experience in music and music theory and have had many tutors who I’ve learnt from and I’m able to provide that experience to you or your child! Approved Working with Children’s Check and Police Check that I’m happy to provide evidence for upon request!

About the class

My teaching methodology focuses solely on the student and what they want or need to learn. Having the VCE syllabus in mind, I can easily gear them towards being ready for participating in this higher study, or getting them through their VCE with strong marks. Constant communication about what they need from me will inform how I approach each topic and I will get students to apply their knowledge and teach it to me in order to understand any gaps in their learning. It is important that their experience with music is a good one, as this will keep them returning to the interesting and vast world of music.

Raven has been studying music since she was two years old. Her parents both being professional musicians and educators have ensued she has been immersed in both a musical and educational environment.

Raven is a supportive, understanding and imaginative teacher who has an excellent understanding of the material she teaches. Her understanding of theory, aural skills, tone production, technical facility including fingerings on the saxophone are broad and deep.

Raven has experience in many aspects of music including playing a number of instruments and singing. She has experience as a vocal coach for musical productions and as a band leader.

I have no hesitation in recommending Raven as a thoughtful and knowledgeable teacher.
