Matthew has been my daughters violin tutor for over 5 years. In the beginning Matthew made it very simple for my daughter to get started. He met with us and helped decide the appropriate size and brand of violin, and referred us to the best place to purchase it.
Matthew is a professional and his love for music is evident, and is an inspiration to my daughter and could be for anyone starting their musical journey.
He is a very thorough tutor and makes every lesson interesting and exciting for the student. He is patient and motivatates his students; and genuinely gets excited about their musical achievements.
My daughters has achieved only high grades in all her violin exams. I would recommend Matthew to be a tutor for any age group.

Matthew has been teaching our daughter for 3 years now. Our daughter enjoys the lessons very much and has had a steady progression curve. Passed her Initial and first grade with highest marks thanks to the persistence and consistence of the teaching she has. She is now going to pass grade 2 very soon with confidence that she is ready.

I have known Matthew for a number of years and have worked with many of his students. I am a pianist and accompany Matthew's pupils for ABRSM and Trinity Exams. Matthew is an excellent tutor who has helped an adult beginner rapidly progress on the violin, with fun and enjoyable lessons. Matthew is great at adapting lessons when I'm struggling with a component of a piece, switching to different technical exercises to help me improve on the specific area, before later returning to the piece (which is invariably easier following the exercise). Lessons are fun and varied and I leave each lesson feeling improved and more able. He is very reliable and always excited to teach and talk about the violin. I have been learning with Matthew for over 6 months now and am incredibly grateful for all of the help and guidance he has given me so far; I look forward to continuing my progress with him
