About Emily
I am passionate about mathematics and really enjoy helping pupils succeed in a subject I love. I graduated with a first in mathematics at Lancaster University and completed my PGCE and teacher training at King's College London. From September, I will be returning to study for an MSc in Applied Maths at Imperial College London. I have experience working with SEND pupils and have taught a wide range of abilities from ages 11-18. This past year I have been working in a grammar school and have many resources for stretching and challenging pupils.

I believe that the first step to being successful in mathematics is to develop a positive growth mindset. Pupils in my classes trust me and know that I create a calm and encouraging environment where it is safe to make mistakes. Maths is all about practice and fluency, so we will work through a wide range of examples. I also will spend time developing pupils' written and verbal communication with mathematical ideas, as this leads to a deeper and more confident understanding.
