About Ben
I studied Physics and Philosophy at Balliol College, Oxford, graduating in 2015 with a 2.1. This means I find it easy to explain to students some of the more conceptually challenging parts of the physics course, to answer any questions they might have that are beyond the syllabus, and to help to show them why so many people dedicate their lives to stretching those boundaries of human knowledge. I am intelligent, patient and passionate about my field, and I love to help students to succeed at a critical stage of their life - and hopefully inspire them to take these subjects to university as I did. My degree required me to explain very complicated ideas so that they can be easily understood, which is a useful skill for a tutor. Having gone through the process myself, I can provide some guidance on university applications - particularly to Oxbridge - as well as tutoring the subjects listed. I tutor Physics, Maths and Further Maths up to A level. My lessons emphasise deep understanding and connecting concepts from different areas, building on previous topics using clear derivations so that no formula is employed without explaining why and how it came to be.

Ben is an excellent and trusted tutor. He always makes sure to take the time to thoroughly explain every topic, ensuring my daughter understands completely. He is very patient, flexible and has always been consistent with every session.
