About Aguanmase
Hello! My name is Aguanmase Igori, and I am a dedicated secondary teacher with over ten years of experience in teaching Mathematics at various levels, including KS3 and A-Level. I hold a PGCE in Mathematics from the University of Greenwich, London, and a B.Eng in Civil Engineering from the University of Benin, Nigeria.
I am passionate about teaching because I believe that every student has the potential to succeed. My goal is to create an engaging and supportive learning environment where all students can thrive. I have successfully improved student performance in my previous roles, with the A* - C pass rate in my department rising from 31% to 62% over three years 1. I strive to accommodate diverse learning needs by offering individualized support and integrating effective materials into my lessons.
I understand the importance of building strong relationships with my students, and I work hard to create a rapport that fosters trust and respect. I believe that setting realistic goals and making Mathematics relevant to everyday life are essential for student success 1. I hold a PGCE in Mathematics from the University of Greenwich, London, awarded in 2001, and a B.Eng in Civil Engineering from the University of Benin, Nigeria 2. With over ten years of experience as a supply teacher, I have taught Mathematics at various levels, including KS3 and A-Level, and have worked with students who have special educational needs, particularly those with social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties.
My lessons are designed for a wide range of students, including those in KS3 to A-Level Mathematics. I have experience teaching students who function below, on, and above their predicted grades, and I have specifically worked with permanently excluded students from mainstream education or those at risk of exclusion . My approach is tailored to accommodate students with special educational needs, ensuring that all learners can progress within their educational settings.
