About Ben
I find teaching incredibly enjoyable, and mathematics is far and away the best subject to teach because it provides so many opportunities for students!
I am flexible in my approach to teaching; everybody learns in different ways and adapting to the needs of each individual student is imperative to ensuring that that student leaves each tutoring session having learned and understood something.
The most important thing to know about my approach is that I acknowledge that IT IS OKAY TO NOT KNOW OR UNDERSTAND. We are all only human, and if a student does not know or understand something, then there will be absolutely no judgement; my job is to make maths accessible to you! Inevitably, you will ask questions that I cannot answer (like I say, we are all only human). In this instance, you have my word that I will research the question that has been asked and come back in subsequent sessions with as satisfactory an answer as I can find. Part of teaching is learning, and I intend to learn with you! :)

One-to-one, online lessons for one or more hours at a time as required by the student. I use Microsoft teams screenshare function to show concepts, and have the student walk me through the method they would use to approach a question. We can cover any topic in the secondary school syllabus (including GCSE topics), as well as have sessions dedicated to revision and past papers.
I have extensive experience tutoring students of varying ages and abilities, and have spent time in a school observing and teaching in maths lessons as part of a paid internship. I have just completed my BSc Mathematics degree and I am graduating with First Class Honours. I have been accepted onto a teacher training course for the next academic year and I intend to become a full time secondary mathematics teacher after this course.
