About Ashwin

Hi everyone! I’m Ashwin, a Maths tutor with 15+ years of teaching experience.

Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to teach students with different learning styles, abilities, and levels of confidence in Mathematics. One thing I’ve learned is that Maths becomes much easier when you understand the concept rather than simply memorizing formulas.

Why do I teach?

For me, teaching is more than just a profession — it is my passion. Trust it could be real fun.

I genuinely enjoy helping students understand something that initially seems difficult and watching that “Oh, now I get it!” moment happen. I believe that every student can improve in Maths when they have the right guidance, patience, practice, and encouragement.

My goal is not just to help you get the right answer. I want to help you think logically, solve problems confidently, learn from mistakes, and eventually become independent learners.

I’m here to share the knowledge and experience I’ve gained over the years and, most importantly, to make your journey with Maths clearer, more enjoyable, and more confident.

My Approach

Identify class/grade and syllabus.
Check current understanding through a short diagnostic test.
Identify gaps in fundamentals rather than only focusing on current homework.

2. Build concepts first
Explain the why behind each concept.
Use simple examples before introducing formulas.
Connect new topics to concepts the student already knows.

3. Use a “I do → We do → You do” method
I do: Tutor demonstrates one problem step-by-step.
We do: Tutor and student solve a similar problem together.
You do: Student solves independently.
Correct mistakes by asking guiding questions rather than immediately giving the answer.
