About Marijke
Marijke has had a love and passion for music, singing, dancing and performing from a very young age. She studied with many great music and vocal teachers which has gifted her the ability to be a diverse music and vocal teacher.
When she completed her studies in music at University she continued to develop her interest in the link between singing and the emotional intelligence. She developed, and continues to develop, individual, group and special needs creative arts programs to help support the wholistic wellbeing of every student she teaches.
Marijke famously says, "The journey of singing is not just about discovering your voice, it is also about discovering the most authentic and resonant you. When you shine from within, your voice is unshakable."

In singing the body and breath come first, the sound follows.
The voice is supported by the entire body; physically, mentally and emotionally. The sound you create comes from the weaving together of all these elements alongside your love for singing.
Each student has a unique perspective and experience of music and singing and it is through establishing this connection that I am able to teach in such a way that helps them embrace, empower and activate the gifts and dreams they have been blessed with.
I have experience in a range of singing styles including but not limited to Classical, Musical Theatre, Opera, Contemporary and Jazz. There is so much to learn from each genre which will help you refine your sound and style.
Lessons are focused on meeting you where you are at and giving you the tools to best support your vocal and personal journey. Singing helps us share our stories and dreams bringing so much joy, strength and peacefulness to our lives.
Lessons are intended to be fun, playful and inspiring but they will also challenge and stretch you to embrace the amazing potential of your voice.
