Recently graduated with a first class honours degree in Biomedicine (molecular biology), almost finished my Master's degree in research science and will be starting my PhD in October 2025. Seven years of experience in private tutoring. I have a real passion for teaching and helping students. Lets get you through your exams! 300+ hours of tutoring experience. Perfect! I contacted Holly though Superprof after our son and daughter got very poor results in their Standard Math prelims. With tuition over a 5 month period from Holly, both of them went form strength to strength. Holly is patient, dedicated, and she explained things clearly so that our son and daughter understood. I could see both of them gaining in confidence and I could see how much they were now enjoying Standard Maths. By the time their exams came along they were very well prepared and both looking forward to sitting their exams. On results day, they were incredibly proud of their results and both said they could not have done it without Holly’s tuition. Our son left school with Higher Maths, something we’d not thought possible and Holly is happy to continue tutoring our daughter as she goes on to study Higher Standard Maths.
- Tutoring Aela and Bodhan has been a delight and I am so impressed with their effort and attitude towards challenges in maths. These are qualities that will hep them both in life and not just maths! Holly was a fantastic tutor for my daughter for both Nat 5 and Highers Math. She was patient and knowledgable and always willing to answer questions even outside of tutoring sessions. My daughter got an A in both sets of exams thanks in large part to Holly's help.
I’ve worked with Holly for a few years, and she has tutored throughout both of her degrees. She is a hardworking, forward-thinking individual, and is completely invested in the success of her students.
Holly is explains in detail why a formula or the way to solve a problem is in a certain way and also makes it easier to remember how to solve different kinds of problems in different topics. We went through past paper questions for higher maths each week and step by step which helped me to understand the type of questions that were given in the exam. I noticed each time we went through it I got faster and better at solving them. Holly also is great at replying to messages of questions I may have had and breaking them down step by step!
We used Holly to tutor our son for Higher Mathematics in months leading up to his final exam in May. She came highly recommended by a colleague - we wish we had found her sooner.
Holly was friendly and got on well with our son. She was trustworthy, punctual and very well organised. She took time to find out what aspects of the curriculum he was finding most difficult and was able to tailor her sessions to this. Our son benefitted greatly from being able to discuss questions/problems with Holly on a 1 to 1 basis and she provided him with valuable advice about the different types of questions and how these could be answered.
Holly also left questions each week covering a range of topics for our son to answer prior to her next session. This provided valuable retrieval practice for him.
We were delighted that our son got an A in his final exam - the work done with Holly definitely contributed to this.
I would recommend Holly to anyone looking for a tutor for their child - she is fantastic.
