About Sumaya
I am a London School of Economics (LSE) Law graduate and HEC Paris Master's Postgraduate, with over five years of combined experience in private tutoring, academic mentoring and professional coaching.
Alongside my legal education at LSE, I have pursued advanced studies in business, strategy and communication through HEC Paris, Harvard Business School and the University of Cambridge.
I have worked with learners from diverse academic, cultural and professional backgrounds, including school and university students, aspiring graduates, legal professionals, entrepreneurs and business founders.
How can I help you?
Whether you're looking to improve your everyday English, strengthen your academic writing, prepare for university, develop your speaking confidence or communicate more effectively in professional settings, I tailor every lesson to your individual goals.
My areas of expertise include:
General English: Fluency, vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation and conversational confidence. Academic English: Essay writing, critical thinking, reading comprehension, argumentation and university preparation. Business English: Professional vocabulary, presentations, meetings, interviews and workplace communication. Legal English: Legal terminology, structured reasoning, persuasive arguments and formal written communication.
My teaching approach
I believe that learning English should be engaging, encouraging and intellectually stimulating, regardless of your starting level.
My lessons are personalised, practical and interactive. I combine structured conversation, real-world examples, vocabulary development and constructive feedback to help you make meaningful progress at your own pace.
Having worked across international academic and business environments, I understand the importance of communicating clearly and confidently with people from different backgrounds.
My goal is not simply to help you improve your English, but to equip you with the confidence, clarity and communication skills to succeed in your studies, career and everyday life.
Whether you're taking your first steps towards fluency or refining your English for university or professional success, I'd be delighted to support your journey.

I believe everyone deserves the opportunity to communicate confidently, express themselves clearly and achieve their potential, regardless of their nationality, background, age or starting level.
My Teaching Philosophy
My approach is warm, encouraging, empathetic and highly personalised. I genuinely invest in my students' progress, taking the time to understand their personalities, learning styles, strengths, challenges and individual ambitions.
I recognise that no two students learn in exactly the same way. I am particularly mindful of neurodivergent learners, including those with ADHD, dyslexia or different learning and processing styles, and strive to create an inclusive, patient and supportive environment where everyone feels comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and developing at their own pace.
What to Expect From My Lessons
My lessons combine a friendly, interactive atmosphere with structured, thorough and goal-oriented teaching.
Depending on your needs, we may focus on:
- Speaking & Fluency: Building confidence through natural conversation, pronunciation practice and vocabulary development.
- Academic English: Strengthening reading comprehension, essay writing, critical thinking and persuasive arguments.
- Business & Professional English: Practising interviews, presentations, workplace conversations and formal communication.
- Grammar & Writing: Improving accuracy, clarity, sentence structure and written expression. Personalised Learning: Using practical exercises, real-world scenarios and constructive feedback tailored to your goals.
I believe effective teaching should be both supportive and intellectually stimulating. I will encourage you, challenge you constructively and help you recognise your progress while continually developing your abilities.
Whether you're a school student building your foundations, a university student refining your academic skills, an international learner seeking greater fluency or a professional preparing for your next opportunity, we will work together towards goals that matter to you.
