About Jake
Hi, I’m Jake! I have a strong academic background in Physical Education, achieving an A* in A-level PE, alongside A*s in Psychology and an A in Biology. I’m now going on to study BSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise Science at Loughborough University, giving me the opportunity to continue developing my knowledge and passion for sport and performance.
Having recently completed the A-level PE course myself (specifically the OCR specification), I have a strong understanding of the specification, exam technique and the challenges students can face when trying to learn and apply such a large amount of content. I particularly enjoy breaking down difficult topics (such as certain aspects of physiology or biomechanics) into simpler explanations and helping students understand how to structure their answers to maximise marks.
My approach is friendly, patient and structured, with lessons adapted to each student’s individual needs. I can help with learning and memorising content, applying knowledge to exam questions, improving exam technique and building confidence ahead of assessments.
I’m passionate about helping students make progress and achieve their goals, and I aim to make lessons both productive and enjoyable. Whether you’re struggling with a particular topic or looking to push towards the highest grades, I’ll work with you to identify what you need to improve and help you get there.

My lessons are designed around what each student needs. If there are certain topics you're having difficulty with we'll go through them together. I'll make sure you really understand them before moving on to using the past-paper questions, mark schemes and examiner reports to put that knowledge into practice.
I look to utilise the specification for each topic to ensure that you are comfortable with all types of questions that you could be asked in exams. Overall, my aim is to help you understand what examiners are looking for and where you can get those extra marks by being able to 'picture' the mark schemes when doing exam questions.
Achieving the scores 72/90 for paper 1, 53/60 for paper 2, and 52/60 for paper 3 for the OCR A Level 2026 exams, I will aim to provide you insight on the tips and tricks with what examiners are looking for, along with the clarity and importance of having a knowledge of the mark scheme
I also aim for my lessons to be engaging and fun. There are no silly questions and if something isn't clear we'll keep working on it until it is.
I'm hoping to help you strengthen your skills and confidence when going into exams by using fun and engaging study techniques!
