Inside-out knowledge of the syllabus means that I can help with both content and exam technique. Lessons are tailored to you. Some students already have an understanding of the topics and require help with tricky multi-stage questions or with wording of written answers, or maybe review of mathematical skills. Others need to cover a topic from scratch, in which case I teach it, often via a questioning process to lead the student. We use textbooks, simulations or PowerPoints as a backup to explanations and plenty of drawings and diagrams. If your child has a tablet with drawing function, that's great (otherwise, work done on paper can be snapped and sent as we speak). A one-to-one lesson allows for a much more interactive and targeted experience than a classroom, in which I can check understanding and develop the student's thinking skills as we go. Since the level of challenge is adjusted to suit you, it is possible to make progress and build confidence quickly.

Perfect! My daughter has been having tuition with Emma for the last 6 weeks in preparation for her A level Physics exams in May/June. Emma has accommodated quite an intensive schedule - 2-3 times a week - given how close we are to the exams. Emma’s lessons are clear, structured and effective and my daughter has found them very helpful. She has really grown in confidence with her Physics and her knowledge has increased significantly - after only three weeks of tuition she had her second set of mocks and her Physics went up three grades compared with the first set of mocks before her tuition started.
