About Jasper
Hi, my name is Jasper (19), and I am on my gap year after having been an A Level Maths, Further Maths and Physics student at grammar school Devonport High School for Boys in Plymouth. I have a place in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Exeter, where I will study in a year’s time. I completed my A Levels just last year, and I am very empathetic with how difficult that period can be. I find it quite sad that so many students do not get the support they really need at their own school, so I am here to help fill that gap and help you reach your full potential! I have always had a great interest in Maths and Physics, and I plan on taking this interest further to university, where I will study Mechanical Engineering at an undergraduate level at the University of Exeter.

Lesson Approach: I like to approach learning systematically, first by learning a student's capabilities, and then working off of that by securing a good understanding of a topic, through questioning, discussing and interacting, to make sure the student is on board, every step of the way. I cannot emphasise enough how important practice of real-world exam questions is, so once basic understanding is met, I like to work through examples of past paper exam questions with the student. We pick apart the mark scheme, so the student can develop the knowledge of what exactly the questions are looking for, in the real exam situation! Perfect! Jasper has been helping my son with his GCSE maths and his understanding of the subject has greatly improved since he started.
