I'm a BA History and Politics student and I would like to guide you in uncovering the rich tapestry of many lives and stories that History is. I am offering Primary to A Level History.
Everyone learns differently so I will first ask you what you feel helps you to understand and will then do my sincere best to accommodate this.
Personally, I like to teach - and learn - through discussion as it is this questioning, contextualising, and analysis that is often how History is understood.
Though this may change with your needs, I will start the lesson with a short introduction followed by a discussion and then an activity. We will then summarise and clarify any points at the end of the lesson.
I will make and find resources and structure activities to help you recall the past such as informative readings, films, videos, timelines, and debates. I will also thoroughly and critically proofread written work, including essays, and give you clear and detailed feedback. Activities will also be geared towards your points of improvement.
I will also help you to improve those skills that historians and history students need - being critical, the ability to evaluate, the ability to find connections in aid of memorisation, knowing how to support your argument, being effective at note taking, knowing how to structure an essay, and more.
