About Wilfredo
I’m Dr. Wilfredo José Burgos Matos, a college professor and language expert with a Ph.D. in Iberian and Latin American Languages and Cultures from The University of Texas at Austin. I specialize in Spanish language, Latin American and Caribbean cultures, literature, and communication. I have taught Spanish at universities including UT Austin, Lehman College, and John Jay College of Criminal Justice, and have also founded and led online training programs dedicated to teaching Spanish for healthcare and mental health contexts. I bring extensive experience in language education, bilingual communication, and creative pedagogy, using music, film, audiovisual materials, literature, and real-world conversation to make Spanish engaging, practical, and unforgettable.
