I’ve been studying with Maria for about 18 months and have loved every minute. I came to our first lesson with a pretty good Spanish vocabulary and a few years of academic and online courses - but what I needed (and got) from Maria was conversational practice. We do more formal grammar lessons but what helps the most is just talking: about current events, history, literature, life. I am much more confident and capable in my fluency than I was just 2 years ago.

I've been studying with Maria for years. She's encouraging and patient, and always makes the lessons fun. Even so, she doesn't allow me to get away with poor grammar... expect to put a little effort in on your end as well. I'm not as fluent as some of her other students, as I'm over 65 and don't practice as much as I should. But I get by with intermediate conversational Spanish in Madrid and San Juan, and I now read fluently!

I met Maria Ximena when I signed up to try a Spanish class with her over 3 years ago…and I’m still taking classes with her! She’s a top tier teacher and coach. She has helped me to use Spanish in my job with competence and confidence, helped me prepare for a trip abroad, and tailors classes to specific topics I want to learn more about. I 100% recommend signing up for a class with Maria!

I have worked with Maria for 2 years and I cannot believe the progress we have made! I went from not understanding a word when someone spoke to being able to hear different dialects and actually comprehending! The combo of grammar and conversational lessons have truly taken me to a level I never thought I’d get to. Maria is an amazing and patient instructor and I could not recommend her enough! Your results are truly guaranteed with her.
