Hi :) my name is Nicholas, I am a multi-instrumentalist (piano, guitar and bass) and sound engineer/producer. Education/Experience: - 15 years of teaching experience (ages 7-75) - BMus Hons (Kingston University, London) - HND Sound Production (Edinburgh College) - 1 year jazz course (LeCim, Paris)

My approach to teaching is to make the lessons fun and break things down simply for my students. I teach popular/contemporary music so my focus will be more on developing musicality, rhythm and "good ears", than learning how to read music. My lesson plans are based around the music you like and we will be learning solos or piano/guitar parts by ear and jam along to your favourite songs! Improvisation is also a big part of my teaching and something I will help you discover intuitively first before we start delving into the topic of music theory.

Perfect! Awesome lesson with Nicholas! Really enjoyed his unique approach to playing by ear and learning how to improvise. He has an excellent setup also with a clear view of which notes he was playing.

Perfect! Nicholas is a great teacher. I really like his approach of encouraging playing by ear and improvisation! I was impressed that he prepared for the lesson by listening to pieces of music my sons enjoyed and then during the lesson showed them how they could play along with the chords. Highly recommended!

I can really recommend lessons with Nicholas as he is great at making musical concepts simple for a beginner. He is also very fun to learn with! :)
I cannot recommend Nicholas more as a piano and music teacher! He is very passionate and enthusiastic teacher who is great at simplifying more difficult concepts and making lessons really fun. It was the first time I was taught music by ear and I think it’s a brilliant way to learn, especially if you want to jam with people.
Nicholas is not only an accomplished and highly experienced musician -he has that rare ability to teach 'patiently' throughout all levels too.
He has taken me from a complete musical 'novice' to now understand Music Theory and to start composing my own tracks on Logic Pro - Highly recommended !!!Nicholas is not only an accomplished and highly experienced musician -he has that rare ability to teach 'patiently' throughout all levels too.
He has taken me from a complete musical 'novice' to now understand Music Theory and to start composing my own tracks on Logic Pro - Highly recommended !!!My singing voice has always sounded and felt a bit strained. I struggled to reach the high notes and gain power in my voice, which often led to hoarseness. Now, after about 10 sessions with Nicholas, I feel much more relaxed when I sing, and I have gained more power and volume in my voice than I have ever had.
Nicholas is a great teacher. He manages to avoid all unnecessary complexity and explain the subject in a set of simple rules. I managed to improve my technique drastically in just a couple of months. In addition to this, Nicholas focuses as well on the songs I am struggling right now. Thus instead of singing Amazing Grace, as I did with the other teachers, we spend time usefully on the material I need right now.
