About Robert
I am a college drop out, who later returned to complete 3 degrees in math. I understand what it is like to fail then refocus. I taught math as a part time teacher for years while working in industries where math is regularly used to address business problems. I love working with a student and seeing the " light come on" when math concepts are suddenly understood.

I think it is important for students to see how math is used. I would bring a lot of real world examples of math applications. Also students like to be challenged. I would create various math games to make math fun. The student can not learn without participating. Therefore a large part of the session would require some type of response from the student. Without this feedback, the instructor does not know whether the concepts were understood. I would end a session with a quiz or puzzle for the student to think about prior to the next meeting.
