About Shannon
Music is my greatest passion, and something I am truly enthusiastic about. I have been playing the guitar for over 14 years and teaching for 4 years. Throughout my journey, I have explored a variety of styles including indie, pop, country, and even dabbled in rock. I enjoy experimenting with a wide range of chords, including power and barre chords, strumming patterns and fingerpicking, which has helped me write my own songs as well as learn many popular ones. What I love most, however, is helping others discover the joy of playing. Being able to play an instrument is a wonderful skill, and I find it deeply rewarding to guide others on their own musical journey.

I believe it is important to show genuine personal interest and to provide tailored lessons that support each student on their individual learning journey. My goal is to create a relaxed and enjoyable environment where students feel motivated and confident. I also encourage them to choose the genre of music they would like to focus on, as I know from experience how valuable this can be. When I was learning, I appreciated how my teacher asked what I wanted to play. Having that choice made the guitar so much more exciting for me and gave me the motivation I needed to practise in my own time.

Shannon teaches our two youngest children Spanish every week and has done so since September 2020. Her lessons are well structured, with a clear objective and, most importantly, our children really enjoy the fun and enthusiastic way she teaches. They also enjoy the homework that she sets, which adds to the understanding of each lesson. We would definitely recommend Shannon as an online tutor.
Shannon is a great tutor who I would thoroughly recommend. She teaches my two children who are aged 7 and 13. They both find Shannon’s teaching methods really enjoyable and she finds fun ways to bring their learning to life.
