  • Do you speak this language fluently because of your background, and what inspired you to learn it?

I am a true mix of cultures-my mother is Spanish, and my father is Bulgarian. Both spoke to me in their native languages, making Spanish and Bulgarian a natural part of me. As language teachers, my parents communicated with each other in English, which further enriched my language skills.

I studied at the Aprilov Gymnasium, where I was selected 6th out of 1,000 candidates, and where all subjects were taught in English. There, I chose German as my second foreign language and mastered it excellently. My parents were my inspiration to learn languages, and I am endlessly grateful to them for this opportunity.

I realize that not everyone has such a privilege, which is why I started teaching languages-to give people the chance to learn, communicate, grow professionally and personally, and build bridges between cultures. I hope to support as many students as possible on their language journey and guide them until they reach their goals.
  • Can you name a historical, fictional, or living figure who you believe is an iconic representative of language culture?

One person who I believe is an iconic representative of language culture is Nelson Mandela. Although he was not a linguist or a writer, his way of expressing himself, the power of his words, and his ability to inspire generations are an excellent example of the power of language.

He believed that language is a bridge to people's hearts and a tool for change. One of his most inspiring quotes is:
"If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his own language, that goes to his heart."

This quote perfectly embodies the power of language culture-not just communication, but also connecting souls, building trust, and inspiring change.
  • Is there a typical word, expression, tradition, or behavior in the language that you find particularly beautiful?

An English tradition that I find particularly beautiful is afternoon tea in Britain. It is not just a moment to drink tea-it is a ritual of togetherness, slowing down, and appreciating the little things.

I love how this tradition combines language, culture, and social interaction. Expressions like "Shall we have a cuppa?" radiate warmth and coziness, transporting us to a world of tranquility and elegance.

To me, this ritual is more than just a custom-it is an example of how language and culture shape people's ways of thinking. In a world where everything moves fast, the idea of pausing for a moment, having a good conversation, and enjoying a cup of tea truly inspires me. It shows respect for the time we spend together and the joy of good company.

As an English teacher, I use this tradition not only to explain language nuances but also to highlight the values behind it. After all, learning a language is not just about grammar and vocabulary-it is also about understanding the way of life and thinking of the people who speak it.
  • Why is it important to know this language?

The English language is undeniably the most widely used language for international communication and plays a key role in various fields-from education and business to science and culture. Research by Crystal (2003) and Graddol (2006) shows that English functions as a lingua franca in international relations and trade.

Mastering English opens countless doors for personal and professional development. According to Harmer (2007), English speakers have greater access to high-quality education, as most prestigious universities offer programs in English. Furthermore, studies by Seidlhofer (2011) indicate that knowledge of English increases competitiveness in the job market, as more and more employers require strong communication skills in this language.

Beyond professional advantages, English also offers cultural benefits. It provides access to a vast range of books, films, music, and scientific studies that have not been translated into other languages. According to Krashen (1982), learning languages not only broadens cultural horizons but also improves cognitive skills such as memory and critical thinking.

In short, knowledge of English is an essential advantage in the modern world. It offers better career opportunities, access to education, and participation in global culture, making life richer and more successful.
  • What is the biggest challenge in learning this language, and what can help in the learning process?

The biggest challenge in learning English is mastering its complex and inconsistent phonetic system, as well as the vast number of idiomatic expressions and phrasal verbs. Many learners struggle with pronunciation because the written and spoken forms of words often do not match. Additionally, while English grammar seems simple at first, it can become challenging at more advanced levels due to its many rules and exceptions.

To facilitate the learning process, education should be communicative and practical. Using real-life situations where the language is applied naturally helps students build confidence and retain new structures more easily.

An individual approach is also crucial-each student has different needs, a unique learning style, and their own motivation. A combination of listening, speaking, reading, and writing in lessons, along with integrating cultural elements, makes learning more effective and engaging.

Another important factor is creating a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and learning from them. Consistency and regular practice are essential-even short, daily interactions with the language can significantly accelerate progress.
  • How has a particular trip helped you improve your language skills and knowledge?

One of my most memorable trips was to the Peruvian jungle, where I taught Spanish to local communities. Although I was there as a teacher, this experience also helped me improve my English, as I worked with international volunteers who primarily spoke English. Communicating with them pushed me to refine my language skills.

One of the biggest challenges was translating cultural and linguistic nuances between Spanish, English, and the local languages. For example, when an Australian volunteer tried to explain the concept of a "barbecue" to the local people, they understood it in a completely different way.

These situations not only expanded my vocabulary but also taught me how to convey information clearly and effectively. Moreover, living in the jungle taught me flexibility and adaptability-skills that I now use daily as a teacher.

This adventure made me realize that language is not just about words and grammar-it is a bridge between cultures.
  • What makes you a super professional in the language?

An outstanding private teacher must not only be an expert in the language but also an inspiring mentor. Key qualities include: patience, adaptability, motivation skills, an individual approach for each student, creativity in teaching, knowledge of cultural differences, passion for the language, communication skills, the ability to explain complex concepts clearly, understanding student psychology, organizational skills, flexibility in teaching methods, and innovative thinking.

Additionally, a teacher must be able to convey the language in a practical and engaging way, making learning an enjoyable and inspiring experience.

The first lesson with me is free, so I invite you to experience it for yourself-let's embark on an exciting language adventure together! Thank you for your time and attention!
