Previously, I had enrolled in a local driving school, but frankly speaking, it wasn’t very useful. Their approach was very basic — just give you the car and let you drive 6 km every day. We, Akshay and Mrunmai, were trained together on a manual vehicle. From day one, Pavan started off by explaining the theory in great detail, helping us understand how every part of the vehicle works together as a system. He then systematically moved on to practical skills, beginning with clutch modulation and clearly identifying vehicle margins. Next, he taught us different braking modulations, followed by steering control for both U-turns and normal turns. Gear shifting was also explained in a simple yet effective way.

One of the highlights of his teaching method was how beautifully he explained reversing, using diagram based representations, which made this complex task very easy to understand. He also specializes in teaching the art of uphill driving, dedicating focused sessions to mastering this skill. Additionally, he conducted specialized parking sessions, spending ample time perfecting our parking skills so we can now confidently park in any condition, whether parallel or perpendicular.

Once we were comfortable with basic vehicle operation, Pavan ensured we had sufficient practice driving on highways as well as in city traffic conditions. He guided us in detail through internal vehicle components and provided specific practice for the driving test, including patterns like 8 and H, after which our sessions concluded.

Pavan promised us on day one that by the end of his training, we would have a skill level comparable to someone with a year's driving experience, and indeed, he delivered exactly that. He was also exceptionally accommodating with scheduling, regularly arriving early at 7:30 AM despite our location being far from his usual area. Even on weekends, he showed the same energy and dedication, willingly spending extra time to ensure we perfected our skills.
