About Amy
I have taught in public schools, private schools, small groups, homeschooling organizations, and one-on-one tutoring. I have also taught all age groups from preschool to adults. Students find me easy to talk to and their parents have sent me many positive comments about my work with their children.
I have a passion for teaching. I've enjoyed reading my whole life, and I have also written for publication.
I love animals, and that becomes apparent in some of the teaching materials I use. In lessons for my younger students, there are a few animal "characters" that appear in our lessons from time to time. Young children delight in seeing them and it inspires them to have fun with the work.

I teach online using Zoom. I design each lesson to fit each student's needs and provide feedback to the parents after each lesson. I teach language arts to students in grades 1 - 12. Students aged 10 and under have a half-hour lesson, and those over 10 have a forty-five minute session. This way students leave the lesson at their peak energy level, not tired, and eager to come back and learn more.
Lessons are fun and engaging! Some students want to catch up to their grade level in reading and some are interested in getting ahead of their peers. Whatever the reason, each lesson includes vocabulary enrichment, Greek and Latin roots and affixes, grammar, reading comprehension, writing, phonics and spelling.
Classical Education Tutoring also has PODs available; if a student has a couple of classmates who want to tutor, and they're in the same grade level, three can learn at the same time! Peer interaction is a positive experience for them.

Details
Students who are 10 years old and younger have 30-minute lessons at $20 per lesson. Students older than 10 and adults have 45-minute lessons at $25 per lesson.
Classical Education Tutoring also has PODs available, in which three students at a time may attend a lesson for a reduced price. Students younger than 10 may learn in a POD for $12 each, and students over 10 may learn for $15 each.
