About Kelly
With 8 years of experience in education, I currently serve as the Assistant Head in a KS1 setting within an inner-city school, where I lead across Key Stage 1 and specialise in supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and those who are English as an Additional Language (EAL). My extensive experience also includes tutoring both KS1 and KS2 children, providing a deep understanding of the primary curriculum and how to effectively support children at various stages of their learning. I have direct experience with KS1 SATs, including moderating end-of-key-stage expectations, ensuring that assessments are accurate and in line with national standards. I have also supported children with KS2 SATs, helping them build the confidence and skills necessary to succeed. Additionally, I have a strong track record of success with Year 1 Phonics Screening Checks, with many students achieving excellent results. My primary passion lies in early reading development and building foundational maths skills, areas where I’ve seen tremendous progress in my students. I am dedicated to making learning fun, engaging, and accessible to all, enabling children to reach their full potential. Whether in the classroom or through tutoring, I aim to foster confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning in every child I work with, ensuring they are not only prepared for academic milestones but also equipped for lifelong success.
