About Laylah
Hi, I'm Laylah! I am a Biomedical Science graduate from King's College London with almost three years of tutoring experience teaching students across a range of ages and abilities.
Mathematics has always been one of my strongest subjects, and I achieved an A at A Level. Throughout my degree, I have continued to apply mathematical and analytical thinking in areas such as statistics, data analysis and scientific research. This has strengthened my ability to explain complex concepts clearly and logically.
Alongside tutoring privately and online, I have worked with students through established tutoring organisations, helping them improve their confidence, understanding and examination performance. I aim to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, tackling difficult problems and developing the skills needed to succeed independently. My goal is not only to help students achieve excellent grades, but also to build the confidence and resilience that are essential for long-term success in Mathematics.

My Mathematics lessons focus on building strong foundations, developing problem-solving skills and improving confidence. Many students struggle with Maths because they attempt to memorise methods without fully understanding the reasoning behind them. I break topics down into simple, manageable steps and ensure students understand the concepts before progressing to more challenging questions.
During my own A Levels, I improved by two grades through refining my revision techniques and identifying the study methods that produced the best results. This experience taught me that success in Mathematics comes from consistent practice, targeted revision and learning how to approach unfamiliar problems. I incorporate active recall, guided practice, exam-style questions and regular review into my lessons to help students develop both accuracy and confidence.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes long and are tailored to each student's individual needs and goals. Whether a student wants to strengthen their core skills, improve exam performance or work towards the highest grades, I provide structured and supportive lessons designed to help them make measurable progress.
