About Johannes
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have lived and worked in Germany, Italy, USA, India, Chile, Spain and now the UK as a Modern Language Teacher and Tutor. I have more than 12 years experience in teaching German and English, at language schools, in private tuition (families and one to one) and Business German and English for the last seven years in Spain. I have also worked as a Culture and Nature Tour-guide in Chile (Patagonia, Atacama), tri-lingual. My family is from Chile and we speak Spanish at home. My wife is, apart of her PhD studies, also teaching Spanish and is a consultant on education

I have the German and an Britisch CRB certificate

I trained at Pädagogische Hochschule Esslingen, Germany (Padagogy and Education).
At International House in Barcelona, Spain (University of Cambridge CELTA).

I am teaching - staff a the Deutsche Bank, so that they can communicate with their German clients.

German Master Class - for those who want to dedicate their time and energy to master German once and for all (half and full day available)

- How much do you charge?
I charge 45 pound an hour, booking of 1.5 - 2 hour classes are a requirement.
for longer travel an extra charge can be agreed on. Small groups can get a discounts.
Students who book blocks of lessons (10, 20, 30, ...) get a discount
- Where do you teach?
I am teaching in the Greater London area, South-West London, West- London, Hammersmith, Putney. I can travel upto 20 miles outside London. I have a car and I am therefore flexible.
- When are you available?
I have maximum flexibility, early morning, morning, afternoon, evening, I am working also at weekends in the morning.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
German I teach all levels and all ages.
English I teach up to advanced and all ages
Spanish I teach up to advanced and all ages
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
all levels and qualifications in German, including the Goethe German Certificate
- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
I do my tuition online via SKYPE. I have very good experience with ways of doing online classes. I also accept emails for correspondence. Also phone conversation classes are available.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
My motivation and my passion are modern languages. When I learned Spanish, suddenly a whole continent could talk to me and I could understand a whole continent. Learning a language is exploring your limits and leaving them behind.
That is why I am simply creating a learning environment and motivation, where true learning can take place. Efficient and communicative teaching of meaningful language, essential grammar, and relevant context will lead to your progress and compentent use of German, English or Spanish.
