About Swetaleen

Hi, I am Swetaleen! I am an incoming English Honors student with a massive love for reading, creative writing, and competitive debating. English has always been my favorite subject, and I have spent years participating in debates and public speaking events, which helped me build a lot of confidence.

I wanted to start tutoring because I love sharing my passion for the language with younger school students. I know that grammar and literature can sometimes feel intimidating or dry for kids, and I want to show them that it can actually be fun and engaging. I am really excited to help students improve their grades, discover great books, and find their own voice!

About the class

I don't believe in making kids sit through boring, old-school lectures. Since I am a student myself, I know exactly what makes an English class interesting.

For grammar, I like to use fun, real-life examples instead of just forcing kids to memorize dry rules. When we study stories and literature, I focus on discussions so the student actually understands the characters and enjoys what they are reading. We will also do short creative writing exercises and casual public speaking drills to help them lose their stage fright and speak up confidently in school.

I keep my classes super friendly, supportive, and completely based on what your child needs help with—whether that is school homework, exam prep, or just building up their confidence!
