About Yao

Hi there! I'm Mr. Chua, your friendly online Math tutor for Years 7 through 11, with a special focus on IGCSE Mathematics and Further Mathematics. I've achieved A* grades in IGCSE Maths (0580), Further Maths (0606), and A-Level Maths (9709), and I'm currently working through my A-Levels myself—so I truly understand the challenges students face and what it takes to succeed.

What makes my lessons different? I break everything down step-by-step in a way that actually makes sense, focusing on exam techniques and building a strong foundation. Each session is tailored to fit your unique learning style and goals, whether you're working to strengthen weak areas or pushing for top grades. I believe that every student can excel in math with the right guidance and approach.

Whether you prefer individual attention or learning with a small group, I teach online via Zoom and provide comprehensive support including detailed notes, targeted worksheets, and full lesson recordings that you can review anytime at your own pace. This means you'll never fall behind and can always revisit tricky topics whenever you need to.

Students tell me I have a gift for making math click—transforming complex problems into clear, logical steps that suddenly make sense. I work with everyone from those who find math challenging to high achievers aiming for A* grades, helping each student build genuine confidence and achieve real results. My goal is not just to help you pass exams, but to help you truly understand and even enjoy mathematics!
