My teaching methodology includes one to one and group teaching. Every child is unique. Therefore each child need individual attention. Guided Music Imagery technique can unfurl the hidden abilities of the child allowing him/her to share own experience and ideas. Therefore, I use music as an ideal medium of expression.
I am a master of music with higher research degrees. I have been in the education industry for over twenty three years as teacher, academician, researcher, teacher trainer and writer. I taught students with age group ranging from 11 years to 16 years in government schools in various parts of country. Further, taught in teacher training institutes to generate first hand knowledge about music and its importance in schools as a subject or as tools for integrating with core subject areas.

Disciple of Dr. A.C. Choubey, ex-Dean of the Faculty of Music at I.K.S. University (India) – hails from the tradition of Pandit Ratanjhankar and represents Agra Gharana (School of Music). Specialized training in Dhrupad form of Indian Classical Music from Pandit Abhay Narayan Mallik of Mallik Gharana of Dhrupad. About one year experience in teaching vocal (classical) and musicology at Indira Kala Sangit Vishwavidyalaya, Chattishgarh (India). Individual and with guru in many places which include Khairagarh, Raipur, Nagpur, Pune, Calcutta, Guwahati, Tezpur, Bongaigaon, etc. Radio and TV artist. Performed both classical and light music.
Received formal training in Pianoforte from Art & Culture, Shillong (India) and Guitar in Guwahati under renowned teachers. Composed more than twenty western numbers. Experience of public performance in Western Music (vocal) in places like Aizawl, Shillong, Guwahati, etc. During my stay in Mizoram from 1994 to 2001 I taught Western Music theory and practice to students and also conducted choir groups. Experience in performing Western Music including group member of church choir as base and contralto.

Lyricist and Composer of more than hundred songs in English, Assamese and Hindi. Contributed articles in magazines on music, ethnology and religion. Prestigious invitation by the International Council for Traditional Music to the 32nd World Conference held in Berlin, Germany in June, 1993 to present a paper entitled “Traditional Folk Songs of Assam”. Some published articles worth mentioning—“U Soso Tham and His Contribution to Khasi Literature”, “The Inner Power of Music and Music Therapy”, “The Fundamental Unity of All Religions”, “Zawlbuk and its inpact in Mizo Social Life”, “My Encounter with a Maestro”, “Dr. Bhupen Hazarika and his Attachment with Meghalaya”, “Liangmai Nagas – Origin and Culture”, “Nelson Mandela – the Life and Teachings”, “A Short Introduction to Ethnomusicology”, etc. Recipient of state and central government scholarships for higher study. . An album of Mizo and English Gospel songs to credit entitled “I Lamah Min Hip Rawh”. An Assamese audio music album ‘BIDAI’ as a tribute to late Dr. Bhupen Hazarika which was formally released at Guwahati Press Club by late Hazarika’s wife Priyam Hazarika and son Tej Hazarika. Specializing Music Therapy in M.Phil. with a dissertation entitled “Music Therapy for Special Needs”.
