Hello and welcome! My name is Talelani Mphohoni, and I am a dedicated and passionate language educator with a strong interest in multilingual education and learner-centered teaching. My teaching methodology is learner-centred, inclusive, and grounded in communicative and sociocultural approaches to learning. I believe that language is best acquired through meaningful interaction, critical engagement, and real-life application. I integrate learners’ linguistic and cultural backgrounds into my lessons to make learning relevant and empowering.
What makes me unique as a teacher is my strong awareness of multilingualism and language diversity. I do not view learners’ home languages as a barrier, but as a valuable resource for learning. I consciously use translanguaging strategies to support comprehension, build confidence, and bridge new concepts with learners’ existing knowledge. I also emphasise critical thinking, creativity, and learner participation rather than rote learning.
