About Andrés
I trained at the Royal College of Music for my higher education, and graduated with a Bachelors followed by a Masters degree. I am the recipient of a number of awards and have won competitions. My playing has opened many doors for me and have toured extensively in South America and Europe.
When I was a student I realised that much of what people learn is up to them, however, a good teacher is key in inspiring them to become the best they can be, for this reason, if you wish to see my biography or performance CV please get in touch and I will send you a copy.
My degree required a fair amount of performance practice research, which meant I had to study original 17th and 18th century sources to improve my performance skills. This is a habit that stuck and when I am not practising or working, I can be found studying these. This is an aspect that I have seen grown in recent years and more and more orchestras are asking for this in their auditions. It is expected that a lot of research is beneath a performance. I incorporate this into my lessons, so you will be exposed to the latest findings in this regard.

My lessons are tailored to the needs and desires of the student, I love teaching what I have learnt in this beautiful profession.
I trained as a oboist for 17 years- a process that started when I was 9 and finished when I graduated from the Royal College of Music with a Bachelors and Masters degrees. The more I do music, the more I realise there is to learn, and I love learning.
My lessons last 1 hour but I am happy to stay a little longer at no extra cost, if the extra time does not exceed 30 minutes.
