About Angshuman
Intellectual satisfaction that I got while working as a Lecturer in St. Stephen's College/Delhi University, has been, to quite some extent missing in my Civil Service Job. Moreover, before entering the Civil Services, I had secured admissions with teaching assistantships in Universities like Rochester in the US and Oxford in the UK. Oxford, I could not go because I did not get a scholarship (INLAKS), where I was shortlisted in the top 02 but missed out. In St. Stephen's I was teaching ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT POLICY (3rd year- BA hons. Economics). In addition, I was taking tutorials in Micro and Mathematical Economics for the 2nd year students. During this period and later on as well, I was invited by the Industrial bodies to deliver pre-budget lectures to industrialists. To be very frank, it was with regret that I did not pursue economics because I was not sure as to whether I would be able to stay abroad for a substantial period of time. Those were the days when there was no internet or mobile phone. Had these been available, I would certainly have chosen a career in Economics. If given an opportunity, I am confident that I shall be able to live up to expectations and bring out papers, etc, in Economics and Finance journals. Recently gave lectures in Economics and Finance to MBA students in top management institutes of Kolkata.
