About Jimena
Jimena Andión García, cellist born in Pontevedra in 1993. She graduated in 2016 in the specialty of Interpretation at the Superior Conservatory of Music of A Coruña, combining with studies at the School of High Musical Studies of Galicia under the tutelage of Barbara Switalska . Later, he completed his Master's studies at the Academy of Music in Krakow (Poland), receiving classes from Professor Jan Kalinowski. Since 2020 he continues his training in the orchestral field as part of the Alla Scala Theater Academy in Milan (Italy) and in 2021 he begins the Master's degree in Musical Pedagogy at the International University of La Rioja.
He also attends various courses with prestigious cellists such as: Alexander Osokin, Emilio Colón, Jan Haliska, Dalibor Sebestik, Angel Luís Quintana, Helena Poggio, David Apellániz, Arnau Tomás, Vida Vujic, Massimo Polidori, Sandro Laffranchini or Cag Ercag. In the field of chamber music, he has participated in various formations throughout his career, attending master classes by Humberto Armas, Emile Cantor, Vincenzo de Felice, Gian Franco Borrelli, or Evgeni Sinaiski.
He is currently part of the Samudra Trio, performing concerts throughout Galicia and preparing his first album. In the orchestral field, he collaborates with different orchestras in Galicia and plays under the baton of renowned conductors such as Ivan Monighetti, Lorenzo Viotti, Roberto Abbado, Massimo Zanetti, Donato Renzetti, Antoni Wit or Tadeusz Wojciechowski.

My methodology is based above all on the motivation of the student, adapting to their tastes and characteristics. I like to innovate and experiment in my classes, not only talking about technique but about all aspects of music and cello performance. I teach all ages, from toddlers to adults.
