About Ian
I am a student myself, and therefore I understand what us students want. I grew up with a love-hate relationship with violin, but grew to love it and I am making it my mission to be able to help newer violinists achieve the same. And being a student, I have many hours of flexibility, and also have more modern qualifications such as my placement in TCSYO which is a prestigious orchestra in the state of Virginia and play many hard repertoires such as Brahms Symphonies and solos such as Mozart concertos.

My methods of teaching are simple, to first plant passion and love into the music that they are playing and show an extensive use of advanced bow techniques, and simple basics such as down to the posture. A typical lesson will start with scales, then any etudes or simple short studies, and then getting into pieces, whether that be slow or fast, jazz, or classical, or even Pop, I am experienced through it all. As a tutor, I encourage more than just classical music learning. P.S. I LOVE Pop music myself and am just as willing to teach any category. The level I expect to be most benefited from my lessons are beginning to lower intermediates, with an estimation of roughly 6-11 year olds.
