About Javi

Always looking for new ways to facilitate the learning and understanding of a new language is not an easy task, it is not only about learning the grammar rules, but it also involves breaking down borders, living new experiences and enriching your life in unimaginable ways.

I am Javi, a native and certified teacher of the Spanish language, and my mission is to transmit all my knowledge through the use of effective strategies that will really help you achieve your goals.

So join me, I'll tell you a little more about how this incredible journey towards teaching began!

I worked in the engineering sector for more than 7 years, designing machines, buildings and steel bridges, but I always noticed that, although it was something that could give me certain comforts, it never made me feel the true passion that was required to achieve all my potential.

I was aware I could earn money and have a stable life, but inside I felt like something was missing. An idea began to create in my mind little by little... What would happen if I left everything and began to make my dreams come true?

It was then that I decided to set out on my true path. I packed my suitcase full of dreams, dropped everything, and started flying. I traveled to Brazil, a country that I always wanted to know for its people, its culture and above all, its language.

In a short time I was able to master Portuguese, a magical language that allowed me to open my eyes and expand my borders to incredible places.

At that moment I understood that transforming my life and that of millions of people by transmitting my culture and my knowledge through the Spanish language would become my true passion.

I want to help you and a million other people in the process of learning the Spanish language. So don't think twice! See you in class!

About the class

My methodology is based on communication and grammatical skills that will quickly lead you to speak fluently, 90% of the class will be practicing pronunciation and vocabulary in different contexts of daily life. Our classes will be fully structured with excellent quality material for quick learning.

Perfect! Javi is an amazing teacher! The classes with him are always very fun and he explains even the most stupid grammar questions with a lot of patience and in a way that I always understand it. His classes are very structured and he's always punctual (I can say that as a German;) )
Most impressing to me is all that effort Javi puts in teaching. When he's not in class he works on developing his website or preparing his videopodcast. This is really his passion. And to me learning is waaaay easier if you're teached by someone who's passionate about what they do.

Perfect! Javi es un muy buen profesor, me hace sentir cómodo hablando, no me da miedo cometer errores porque es muy amable y comprensivo. Sus clases son muy divertidas y siento que se adapta muy bien a las necesidades de los estudiantes, en mi caso se combinan muy bien los ejercicios de speaking y grammar. Perfect! Javi es un muy buen profesor, me hace sentir cómodo hablando, no me da miedo cometer errores porque es muy amable y comprensivo. Sus clases son muy divertidas y siento que se adapta muy bien a las necesidades de los estudiantes, en mi caso se combinan muy bien los ejercicios de speaking y grammar. Me gusta que me deja ejercicios para hacer en casa y me da recomendaciones para mejorar. Siento que he aprendido mucho y me alegra que sea mi profesor :)

To begin, he definitely pushes his students to really try their best. I never leave a class without feeling like I’ve learned something new, or that I haven’t improved. If you’re a dedicated Spanish student, this makes him a great fit, just be prepared to really push yourself!

He’s also very fun to talk to, as well as being kind and personable. This makes every session one in which I look forward to going to, which is important, especially since each lesson is one rooted in conversations.

Finally, he’s very dedicated to helping his students, and it shows. He has a WhatsApp phone number you can contact him at with any questions about Spanish, so even when we’re not in class he’s available to help you. He also spends a lot of time building his website as well as building new content for his students, which shows how passionate he really is about teaching.

¿Hablas este idioma gracias a tu lugar de origen o porque alguna situación o profe te dio ganas de aprender?
Soy nativo del idioma español, nací en la ciudad de Bogotá, la capital de Colombia, un país hermoso con paisajes increíbles.
Bogotá es reconocida mundialmente por tener uno de los acentos más neutros y fáciles de entender y aprender.
Cuéntanos de algún personaje inspirador/a que sea un emblema o muy representativo de la lengua que enseñas.
Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra y su obra "El quijote de la mancha" realmente son una inspiración para mí, escrita el 16 de enero de 1605, esta obra literaria refleja la magia del idioma español en todo su esplendor.
¿Hay alguna expresión o tradición que te llame mucho la atención del idioma que enseñas?
En el español como en muchos otros idiomas existen expresiones realmente divertidas. Una de mis favoritas siempre será: Pan comido, lo cual significa que algo es muy fácil de hacer, lastimosamente aprender español no es pan comido 😅
Mi tradición favorita es la celebración del día de los muertos en México, a pesar de no ser una tradición colombiana, esta particular fiesta nacional es una excelente muestra de lo que es la cultura latina.
¿Por qué sería importante hablar esta lengua? Ya sea en un plano escolar, profesional o personal.
El español es el tercer idioma más hablado del mundo y el segundo más utilizado en Internet, con más de 580 millones de hablantes en 21 países alrededor del mundo el idioma español sin duda alguna permite llegar a conocer culturas muy variadas y encantadoras.
Además, sus encantadores sonidos al hablarlo lo hacen un idioma único y atractivo para cualquier persona que quiera conocer más sobre la cultura latina.
¿Qué es lo más difícil de aprender esta lengua?
Todos mis alumnos tienen una dura batalla con el subjuntivo, pero pienso que cada nivel tiene sus dificultades, la primera de ellas generalmente es la diferencia entre los verbos ser y estar. A lo largo de mis clases he creado estrategias efectivas para desarrollar y poder transmitir de manera correcta el conocimiento adecuado para superar estas dificultades.
¿Alguna anécdota que nos quieras contar sobre tu aprendizaje de la misma?
Hay muchas palabras en México que son "prohibidas" en el uso cotidiano de la lengua debido a que se interpretan en un sentido diferente a lo que se interpretaría en Colombia. Por esto, cuando visité México pasé vergüenzas al no conocer el significado y el contexto de algunas palabras como... Chaqueta. Fue muy divertido.
