About Azeem
My background has been in IT and also self-employment but I’ve always wanted to teach. Now I am Head of Department in Computer Science at a private school from KS3 up to A-levels, and also bring my years of experience in the industry to provide context to my teaching practice. I’m extremely passionate about students learning computer science and engaging using a very relaxed approach allowing for discussion underpinned with theory. It has to be fun otherwise what is the point of learning this?

I’m head of department for a top independent school in London. I am a chartered engineer with 23 years of industry experience that brings context into learning and allows for knowledge recall. I’m extremely passionate about teaching using model-based and dual coding teaching pedagogy that allows for learning that is underpinned by context and for it to be easily recalled. I also focus heavily on the language of exam papers (OCR, AQA, Edexcel, and ICE) and help students understand exactly what is being asked for and what is not to maximise their marks. Computer Science is fun, it doesn’t need to be difficult. My relaxed style allows me to establish a rapport that allows my students to discuss and challenge their learning. I thrive for that moment of “I get this”, leaving students with a positive sense of accomplishment and wanting to learn more.

Perfect! Azeem was a great tutor, very supportive and helpful! He always had a plan for my son doing his Computer Science A Levels and he logged all the lessons so they can be watched back. So all in all highly recommended tutor, clearly very professional and knowledgeable, my son at A Level really liked his classes and my daughter also for GCSE!

Perfect! Azeem has been outstanding. Our son lacked confidence and the technique of sitting a GCSE. He has sat his first paper and smashed it. Azeem is the reason he did. Thank you. Azeem is also very accommodating and seems to understand the pupil very quickly and can adapt his teaching to suit that person. A rare skill to find. Azeem also did a lot of background research as we were with a different exam board than he usually taught . He accessed all the papers in his own time, provided loads of material for us to use. I have known Azeem for many years, while he was working in industry. It is this experience that enables him to explain concepts using real world scenarios, rather than just theory.
For my son, this has been a great help. As he occasionally struggled to understand how something fitted into the real world. Azeem did a great job of explaining concepts using his experience, which made learning considerably easier for my son.
In addition, Azeem's patience and ability to explain has been great. My older son has not moved on, but I will be using Azeem to tutor my younger son.Azeem is an excellent tutor.
