About Colum

For the past 7 years I have taught in both private and mainstream secondary schools in Central London. During that time I have taught KS3 geography covering the National Curriculum requirements, and KS4 and KS5 Geography across both the AQA and EDEXCELS spec's. Apart from my day to day teaching experience in some challenging schools, I have attended many CPD sessions on how to plan, teach and assess good to outstanding lessons where the learner has a clear objectives for the lesson and also the topics they need to cover. I fully understand the course content at both GCSE, AS and A Level Geography along with the exam requirements for each level, assessment objectives and levels based marking systems, and how to give constructive feedback to a student who maybe struggling. I also have experiencing teaching key Geographic skills that are tested across all 3 papers at GCSE level (also attending a CPD session from Paper 3 at GCSE from AQA) for example and I have led two geography fieldtrips at GCSE level also.
