About Aramide

My name is Aramide Akintimehin, and I am a 21-year-old teacher who believes that every child should have access to quality education irrespective of their socio-economic background.
I graduated with First Class honors (4.64/5.00) in Economics from Covenant University in 2018, and since then, I have been expanding learning opportunities for kids and young people.

Within the past three years, I have cultivated an unyielding passion for providing quality education to children in low-income communities. In April 2018, I decided to establish a school known as Talent Mine Academy, where I provide free quality education to children marginalized by their socio-economic background. The children that attend this school have attained a tremendous increase in their literacy rate from 25% to 70% within one year of enrolment.

While in college, I explained difficult concepts to my coursemates and dedicated my time to teaching my classmates and helping them study. After three months, all students that were personally coached by me in Mathematics and Economics recorded a significant boost in their grades from grade F to grade C being their lowest grade. The impact recorded by the students that attended my tutorials earned me recognition by the Registrar of the school.

Having worked on both local and international education projects, I have been recognized as one of the youths transforming education across the globe by Global Partnership for Education. I have also been featured on Guardian Woman and Malala Yousafzai's website on several occasions. My work in the education space has also earned me admission into the prestigious Harvard University and the University of Pennsylvania.

Currently, I am a graduate student at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, majoring in Learning and Teaching.

About the class

I base my teaching on creativity, collaboration and critical thinking. I make my lessons as engaging as possible while being learner-centred. Also, I do not believe in just academic tutoring, I like to know that I am influencinbg my students to be better versions of themselves in the process of excelling academically.

Many of my students say that they enjoy my classes and I make learning fun for them. This translated to a 70 percent improvement of their grades.
