About Grainne
Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and the flute has always been at the heart of that journey. I’ve played in orchestras and ensembles, gaining valuable experience in performing and working as part of a group, and this has deepened both my technical skills and my love for making music with others. For the past three years, I’ve been teaching flute, sharing that passion with students of all ages. My lessons are shaped around each individual—whether you’re a beginner just starting out or an advanced player looking to refine your technique. I aim to create a relaxed, encouraging atmosphere where students can grow in confidence, enjoy their playing, and connect with the joy of music.

I’m a flute teacher with three years of experience helping students of different ages and levels develop their playing. I’m passionate about making lessons enjoyable, supportive, and tailored to each student’s goals—whether that’s learning the basics, preparing for exams, or simply playing for fun.
My approach combines building a solid foundation in technique with encouraging creativity and expression. I believe that music should be both rewarding and enjoyable, and I aim to help my students feel confident and inspired as they progress.

I have known Grainne for a number of years, she is a very reliable and competent person and extremely dedicated to her teaching profession. She is particularly good with younger pupils, encouraging them and helping to build their confidence. I have no hesitation in recommending her.

Grainne is a great tutor! I (22 years old) have had lessons with her and she’s very good at explaining and going through the theory and practice of the piano, I’ve learned so much with her and have had such a great experience! She has also worked with my younger brother (7 years old) and she’s very good at engaging him and explaining the theory for him to understand! I would highly recommend her to anyone with little/no experience!
She is a very energetic and enthusiastic teacher. She clearly has a lot of love for her job, and that translates into incredible results for her students. I definitely would highly recommend her to anyone looking to learn or improve at piano.
I highly recommend Grainne for a tutor. I have had a few lessons with her having absolutely no knowledge of the piano and she has always made me feel like completely comfortable and educated me without making me feel like I had no idea what was going on.
