About Federico
Federico Larosa, pianist, obtained the first level Academic Diploma in Music Disciplines (three years) in 2016 and the second level Academic Diploma in Piano (two-year specialist) in 2018 at the "Vincenzo Bellini" Institute of Musical Studies in Catania , in both circumstances, with full marks and honors, under the guidance of prof. Raffaele Terlizzi. During the regular studies, in the same Institute, he also attended the chamber music class held by prof. Marco Terlizzi. He also studied for several years in Italy at the Sicilian Piano Academy and the Rachmaninov Academy in Catania, in Austria at the Summer Academy of "Mozarteum University" in Salzburg and in the USA at Millersville University (Pennsylvania), with the Masters : Mari Okumura, Pasquale Iannone, Francesco Zappalà, Roberto Galletto, Patricia de la Vega, Kendra Bigley, Hedi Salanki, Ivo Kaltchev, Sa Chen, Violetta Egorova, Bruno Canino, Michele Marvulli, Aquiles Delle Vigne, Frank Wibaut, Joaquìn Achùcarro. For the entire 2017/2018 academic year, for the Erasmus project, Federico studied under the guidance of Prof. Agnieska Przęmek Briła at the "Frydryk Chopin" University of Music in Warsaw, where, in the same period, he was also a student in the chamber music class by Prof. Beata Szebesczyk, who writes: "Federico is a rare type of musician who combines exceptional natural skills with splendid learning skills" In the jazz scene, for over three years he was a pupil of Seby Burgio and student of the Jazz Piano class of Osvaldo Corsaro, at the CESM (Etneo Center of Musical Studies of Catania); furthermore he perfected with: Carlo Cattano (2013), Francesco Cafiso (2013), Antonella Leotta (2014), Angelo Schiavi (2014), Alberto Fidone (2014), Stefania Patanè (2014), Paolo Sorge (2014), Jimmy Weinstein (2014). Federico has held several concerts in Italy, Austria, Poland and the USA, at prestigious institutions, such as: Benedictine Monastery of Catania (2014), Palazzo Pulv purchasers of Pedara (2015), Sala Pacini of the Catania Conservatory (2015), "Katane Palace "Of Catania (2016), Palazzo Messina Carpinteri of Canicattini Bagni (2016), Cultural Center-EXPO of Pedara (2016), Sala dei Granai of Altopascio-Lucca (2017), Nowy Świat Muzyki of Warsaw (2018), Concert Hall of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Warsaw (2018), Sala Elsner Nowy Świat of Warsaw (2018), Palazzo Platamone of Catania (2018), Biemesderfer Cancert Hall in Millersville and Green Spot Village of New Holland (2018) for Lancaster International Piano Festival, Castle Calatabiano (2019), Ursino Castle in Catania (2019), Solitär Hall and Kleines Studio of the Sommer Akademie "Mozarteum" in Salzburg (2019). He also participated in the Lancaster International Piano Competition 2018 (USA), being a semi-finalist. Federico taught piano at the "Arturo Basile" music school in Canicattini Bagni for an entire school year. Federico is active as a solo pianist, pianist in various chamber ensembles and as a teacher.

My methodologies are manifold: a model structured in 12 study phases, where each one must be studied in a week, in order to achieve excellent results. If you start from scratch, the position of the hand and the correct posture will be consolidated, then the study of the technique such as scales, arpeggios, notes held and chords. Finally the interpretation then the "touch" for a professional performance. At the first lesson, I will give a PDF (for free) with many study methods. Usually my lessons last an hour and a half or more depends on the needs of the students and take place with the execution of the technique as a start, so as to verify the position of the hand, posture, joint and more. Afterwards we move on to carrying out studies with didactic purposes but still useful for perfecting the ear. Finally, the songs that can be of various kinds, classic, romantic, modern, jazz, etc ... I am a teacher who identifies with the student, precisely because I have been. The lessons are aimed at people of all ages !!
