About Raphael
With a foundation in Law from Benue State University, I discovered that my true calling lies in the world of music, where I’ve continued to make a lasting impact as a performer, educator, and leader. Over the years, I’ve honed my craft as a singer through numerous performances, including my notable portrayal of "Elijah" in Mendelssohn’s Oratorio. I hold a First-Class degree in Musicology from the University of Uyo, where I specialized in Voice and Composition, equipping me with a well-rounded understanding of both performance and theory. As a composer, I take pride in works such as "Misa Iho" (a Mass written in the Idoma language) which reflects my passion for blending cultural heritage with classical artistry. My experience as a conductor, voice coach, and music director has allowed me to lead and inspire many choirs and singers, particularly during my time as Choirmaster of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cathedral, Makurdi, Benue State and Music Director of Soundmine Chorale (Soundmine Music Project). Today, as the Director of Encore Music Faculty, I am dedicated to nurturing young musical talent and helping students discover confidence and creativity through music. My years as a choir director, voice coach, piano tutor, composer, music producer, music transcriber, arranger, adjudicator etc... continue to shape my mission...to guide others in mastering the art and joy of music.

I have directed both church and non-church choirs for years, and I have extensive experience in choral and classical performance, music theory, and practical tutorship. For over ten years, I have coached both children and adult beginners in sight-playing the piano and singing through personalized one-on-one and online lessons that make learning both effective and enjoyable.
My goal is to help each student understand the language of music; not by memorizing rules, but by truly understanding and mastering basic music concepts and techniques in Theory, Tonic Solfa, Arranging, Singing, Piano Playing, Composition and Tonal Harmony, and Orchestration.
Lessons are flexible, engaging, and adapted to your learning pace. Whether you’re a beginner or developing musician, I’ll guide you toward confidence, creativity, and real musical growth.
