Once upon a time, I was an eight year old inmigrant in New Zealand, barely able to communicate and make friends in school. I learned English after my mother brought me to a thirift shop where I picked up my first English book. Next year, I am moving overseas where the third language I am learning now is spoken. Once again, I will be in a new environment alone, speaking a different language. I understand the frustration that seems to accompany every language learning journey.
