• When did you start practicing? How did this passion find you?

  I’ve always been passionate about art and design. I started painting at a very young age, and what
  began as a hobby and naturally evolved into my career. From early on, both I and the people around me
  knew I would end up in a creative field—I consistently excelled in what I did, won several
  competitions and was actively involved in organising creative events.
  
  I went on to study Applied Art for my BA, majoring in Audio-visual. This experience gave me a
  strong multidisciplinary foundation; I didn’t just learn graphic design, but also film, photography,
  creative writing, and visual communication. Wanting to deepen my understanding, I pursued an MA
  in Visual Communication and completed an internship at Hearst Magazines in London, which gave
  me valuable exposure to the professional creative industry.
  
  I’ve always wanted to bring my ideas to life, so I began freelancing as a web designer. Early in my
  freelance career, I realised that many companies lacked a strong brand foundation. I started sharing
  strategic design ideas rather than just executing visuals, and I saw that these ideas genuinely worked
  —brands became clearer, more cohesive, and businesses started seeing real results. That success gave me confidence in my approach, and I founded my design consultancy, The Design Ventures.
  
  Nearly six years later, I look at my company and feel proud of how far it has come. Three years ago,
  I also began tutoring students who are passionate about design—whether they’re preparing for
  university, building portfolios, or seeking guidance on ongoing projects. I’ve taught over 200
  students through private sessions and tutoring platforms. Teaching has become a rewarding part-time pursuit for me; it’s refreshing, intellectually engaging, and creates a constant exchange of
  ideas. I truly enjoy helping students grow—whether that growth shows up in their work,
  confidence, or academic success.

• Which artists or works affect you the most?

  I wouldn’t say I’m influenced by a single artist. I’m genuinely drawn to history and heritage.
  Whenever I travel, I make it a point to visit historical sites, museums, and architectural landmarks
  because they expose me to ideas that are often timeless and still relevant today.
  When I look at any piece of work—whether it’s art, architecture, or a design project—I’m always
  interested in the message and the story behind it. Work that carries meaning and narrative leaves the
  strongest impression on me. That perspective naturally reflects in my profession as a brand
  consultant and designer, where storytelling is central to everything I do. A strong brand story is
  what truly connects with people and creates long-term impact.
  
  If I were to name specific influences, I’m deeply inspired by artists from the Renaissance period,
  such as Leonardo da Vinci, as well as artists like Vincent van Gogh—especially because I’ve had
  the opportunity to visit places connected to their lives and work while traveling in Europe. What
  stands out to me about these artists, as well as artists from periods of conflict and war, is that their
  work is remembered not only for its extraordinary beauty, but for the powerful stories, emotions,
  and contexts behind it. That combination of artistry and narrative is what continues to affect my
  work the most.

• What are the qualities and skill required to succeed in this area?

  To succeed in this field, you need a balance of creative, technical, and human skills. Creativity is
  essential, but it’s not just about making things look good—it’s about problem-solving, thinking
  strategically, and communicating ideas clearly.
  
  A strong understanding of visual communication and storytelling is crucial. Design that works
  always has purpose behind it, and being able to translate ideas, emotions, and business goals into
  visual form is what sets great designers apart. Alongside this, technical skills and a willingness to
  keep learning are important, as tools and trends constantly evolve.
  
  Equally important is curiosity and observation. Being aware of culture, history, and human
  behaviour helps you create work that feels relevant and meaningful rather than surface-level.
  Discipline, consistency, and attention to detail also play a big role—good ideas only succeed when
  they’re executed well.
  Finally, communication and adaptability are key. Whether you’re working with clients, teams, or
  students, being able to listen, take feedback, and adapt without losing your creative integrity is
  essential. Success in this area comes from combining creativity with strategy, empathy, and a strong
  work ethic.

• What is the most valuable advice you can give to help someone stay focused on creative projects?

  Practice is key. Even when you have strong ideas and the technical skills to execute them, it’s
  essential to keep practicing—training both your creative muscles and your brain. Creativity doesn’t
  simply appear when you need it; it grows through consistency, discipline, and active engagement
  with your craft.
  Observation plays a huge role in staying creatively focused. The more you observe, understand, and
  learn from the world around you, the richer your ideas become. When you approach a project with
  curiosity and a genuine desire to learn and contribute, focus comes naturally because you’re
  mentally invested in the process.
  It’s also important to remember that design is rarely a one-person job. Discussing your ideas with
  others—whether they’re in the same field or from completely different backgrounds—can open
  your mind to new perspectives and possibilities. Sometimes feedback will help you refine your
  idea, and other times it will simply confirm that your original instinct was right. Both outcomes are
  valuable.
  Finally, creating small routines, setting clear goals, and allowing space for experimentation without
  fear of failure can make a big difference. Focus isn’t about forcing creativity; it’s about creating the
  right environment for it to grow.

• How would you describe your passion; how does it make you feel?

  I would describe my passion as something that constantly keeps me curious, engaged, and evolving.
  Working in design and branding gives me a strong sense of purpose because I’m not just creating
  visuals—I’m shaping ideas, stories, and identities that have real impact.
  
  Being in this industry feels timeless. Design requires you to keep up with changing times, new
  technologies, and growth across every sector. As a designer, you contribute to almost every industry
  —whether it’s tech, creative, medical, or education—and that exposure is incredibly fulfilling. I
  genuinely enjoy growing alongside these industries, constantly learning and expanding my
  perspective.
  
  My passion gives me energy. Even when the work is demanding, it feels stimulating rather than
  exhausting because there’s always something new to explore. Seeing ideas turn into meaningful
  outcomes—whether helping a brand grow or watching a student gain confidence—brings a deep
  sense of satisfaction.

• What creative achievements are you particularly proud of?

  I’m proud of both the small and big achievements, because each one has shaped who I am today.
  From winning my first art competition in school to building my company, The Design Ventures,
  every milestone has been part of a continuous learning journey.
  
  I’m especially proud of securing an internship at Hearst Magazines, which was highly competitive
  and a significant step early in my career. Professionally, I take great pride in the work I’ve done
  with startups and individuals across different sectors, including collaborations with people from
  Cambridge University and the UK medical and research sector, where I contributed to research
  projects and websites.
  
  One of my most meaningful achievements has been working in the science and medical fields.
  Coming from a design background with little prior knowledge of science or medicine, the learning
  curve was challenging. The work required extreme precision, accuracy, and clear communication,
  especially in illustrations and technical designs. Despite initial communication gaps, all projects
  were completed successfully, and the experience pushed me to grow both creatively and
  intellectually.
  
  I’m also very proud of the students I’ve mentored. Seeing them secure placements, jobs, and
  admissions to universities they aspired to is incredibly rewarding and feels like a shared success.

• Have you ever been surprised by a student, by their ability or quick progression?

  Absolutely. I once tutored a student who had no prior practice or knowledge in creative fields and
  didn’t even know the basics. Yet, within just the second lesson, I was genuinely surprised by how
  quickly they picked up concepts and how eager they were to learn. With consistent guidance, they
  progressed rapidly and eventually succeeded in securing admission into an art major.
  
  Beyond that individual experience, I’ve encountered several students who demonstrated remarkable
  learning ability, strong memory, and rapid progression once they were given the right guidance and
  structure. These moments are always rewarding because they reinforce my belief that cr

• Being a Superprof is an art! What is your secret?

  Haha, that’s a bit of an exaggeration, but I’m really grateful to the Superprof platform. It not only
  helps students find tutors but also allows tutors to connect with amazing, creative minds.
  
  Teaching or guiding students definitely requires patience, because everyone learns differently and at
  their own pace. I see myself more as a guide and support, students are the ones who do the hard
  work. When motivation comes from within, learning becomes natural, and my role is just to help
  channel that energy effectively.
  
  For me, the most important thing is intention. Why do you do what you do? My main motivation is
  seeing growth—whether in a student’s work, skills, or confidence. Watching that progress unfold is
  incredibly rewarding, and I genuinely enjoy sharing my knowledge along the way.
