About Leonie
Hey there :)
I am currently studying English Law and German Law (LLB) in London. I am from Germany originally and have received top grades in German Literature during high school. Studying German law provides me with the ability to teach German at the highest standards and also help out professionals who need a more specific/ advanced vocabulary (or even some insight into German law). In the past, I have tutored children at high school level as a part-time Job and helped out in a refugee center in Germany giving German lessons. I am flexible with timings of lessons and I look forward to meeting you!

My teaching method is a combination between theory and practice. Unfortunately there’s no way around learning grammar and vocabulary but such things are easiest understood when applied in conversation. As a teacher I can explain content and grammar and go through sentence structure etc. but most of the learning by heart has to be done on your own time. What I can do, and what I find to be the greatest help when learning a new language myself is talking, and talking, and some more talking. You need to get a feel for a language. Especially when it comes to the German language, getting 'a feel for it' is important, because it contains quite a few exceptions and controversies (for example around the gender of the word "Nutella"). Therefore, I aim to bring together theory and practice through as much conversational practice as possible. My lessons will be structured into a theoretical section and an application section, where the learnt content will be morphed into a conversation.
